Our work
Our work is focused on making it easier for the public sector and the third sector to work together in practice by:

Acting as a listening ear for strategy and system change: We welcome commissioners and senior public sector leaders as they develop new ideas and approaches. This isn’t formal consultation, it’s an open, trusted space to test thinking early and sense-check ideas, bringing in wider set of professional perspectives well before plans are set.

Making regular opportunities to connect: We run ongoing networking sessions that bring together leaders from across health, care and community organisations. These are designed to build relationships over time, not just one-off meetings, so people know each other, trust each other, and can work more effectively together.

Creating space for bigger conversations: We organise larger events and conferences, including Common Ground, where the third sector and public sector partners come together to share learning, explore what’s working, and have honest conversations about the challenges facing the system. These spaces focus on practical issues like early intervention, risk, and how social value is understood in decision-making.

Coordinating representation across the system: Well Placed members sit on a range of boards, panels and partnership groups across Liverpool. This ensures the third sector’s experience and perspective is part of decision-making at a system level, not as an afterthought, but as a consistent voice shaping how things develop.

Our objectives

We’ll build a place for third-sector health, wellbeing, and care providers to exchange information, ideas, and connections to benefit the entire city.

We’ll provide a direct route into the lives of local people; turning up the volume on their voices and helping unblock challenges in local communities faced by the public sector.
We’ll break down misconceptions about the third sector, its capabilities and contributions to the people of Liverpool, while reinforcing confidence in its governance and professionalism.
